ROADTRIP ANYONE?
Is it crazy to drive 4 hours just to hold someone? Well, that is what Joe and I did this weekend. Joe has not seen Max and Ava in like three months and I just love them. So Thursday around four in the afternoon we headed to Corinth to surprise Amanda and the Kids. When we got there, Max was still up, and we where greeted with a smile and mouth full of marshmallow cereal (I promise I think it is all the kid eats.) Ava was fast asleep in her crib looking cuter than ever.
Friday morning, as soon as Max’s feet hit the floor, he said “wake Uncle Joe.” So we did and the games began. “Hide you Uncle Joe”(Max translation hide ME Uncle Joe.) So they ran around the living room for an hour hiding from each other. I was exhausted just from watching the two of them run around the living room. Shortly after the hide and seek games they both begin playing peek a boo with Ava and me. Joe placed blankets over his head and Max said “Hold you Uncle Joe.”(translations “pick me up”). We all played for hours and then put the children down for a nap. Joe was so funny waiting for Max to wake up! (he slept for like 3 hours) Once Max woke up the fun began again and Ava was in rare form. She woke up a little grumpy but, after a little while, she was sweeter than ever. We all continued to play and get ready for the day until Deborah got home. Then, we packed up and headed for dinner.
We went to Hinkle for dinner. We ate at this place that you would have thought was someone’s shed until you went inside and took a bite of heaven (I love small town café places.) I should have skipped the meal and just went for desert first. They had this stuff called “Hinkle Mud.” Yeah it was SIN and I mean it was S-I-N!!! After that it was hugs and kisses and sad good byes. “Wuv you Uncle Joe” “Wuv you Aunt Jodie”
Saturday we started our Child Birth preparation classes back in Hattiesburg. FUN! FUN! Six hours in a class! Joe was precious because he wants to learn all about everything. So we stayed there for hours and learned a truck load of new information, but our learning is not over. The class starts back up in 2 weeks. [For all that are pregnant! Have you sat on a birth ball? Really after sitting on one I completely understand why it has become so popular. My back hurts all the time and when I was sitting on the ball it took all the pressure off!]
DON’TAKE THE TIME YOU HAVE WITH FAMILY FOR GRANTED!
